“His email is specifically vague, and I’m sure it’s meant to be,” Lustig said. “He doesn’t want us to know what’s going on.”

What I don’t understand about this hullabaloo is why Apple and it’s board of directors allow Steve Jobs to garner the level of importance that he does.

Whenever Steve catches a cold, Apple stock prices drop. Is there no one else at Apple that can take up the mantle? Is Steve the sole idea-man at that company and Apple is nothing without him?

Scott Gibertson at WebMonkey outlines a new Trojan threat to Mac users that is currently “out in the wild” and ready to pounce on the unsuspecting. Well, maybe not the unsuspecting… more like the extremely naive…

Yes, that’s right, there’s a new Mac virus lurking out there in the wild, but unless you’re incredibly stupid there’s no need to worry. The virus is technically a trojan, named Lamzev-A, which creates a backdoor for attackers to take over your Mac. At the moment the trojan disguises itself as video codec on what The Register calls “grumble flick” sites — that’d be porn to you and me.

On the PC side of things, I can say with all confidence that 9 times out of 10, a user who gets infected is a user not paying attention.

And here I thought that instead of shooting the old Mac that it would get donated to a public school.
